Refund policy

General Return Policy

We are happy to assist with returns and exchanges for reasonable purposes such as size changes or style preferences. All return requests are evaluated based on the customer's purchase and return history.

You have 14 days to return unused items in original condition with receipt and original packaging for a refund in the form of the original tender. Please note for online purchases the 14 days starts from the date that the tracking information shows delivered.

Upon receiving your return, Princess & The Pea Boutique will inspect the item to make sure it is in resellable condition before issuing a refund. If for any reason, the item is not returned in its original condition and packaging or is no longer resalable, restocking fees may be deducted from the refund amount. If your refund is approved it will be refunded within 5 business days. Products that have been opened and assembled are not eligible for return.

Store credit or exchange only for items returned within 30 days. Returns with a gift receipt are redeemable within 30 days for gift card only. After 30 days items are a final sale. Items must be unused with original packaging and in original condition. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash.  For online purchases the exchange policy is 30 days from the date that the tracking information shows delivered. NO refunds or exchanges will be permitted without a receipt or gift receipt. For in-store purchases as well as online orders being returned to our store location a copy of your receipt or gift receipt is required in order to process your return.

After 30 days, items cannot be returned and are a final sale. We pride ourselves in maintaining high quality standards and cannot take back items that have been used, damaged or are not clean. We like to ensure a level of integrity for other customers who may purchase a returned item and cannot in all confidence put items back on the shelf knowing they do not meet the above criteria.

Pattern-Based Return Restrictions

We reserve the right to refuse a return or apply a 20% restocking fee if a customer has returned the same item or within the same product category three (3) or more times within any rolling six (6) month period.

We reserve the right to refuse future service entirely if a customer has made six (6) or more returns within any rolling twelve (12) month period, representing 60% or more of their total purchases.

Examples of Misuse

  • Purchasing a dress for a single occasion and returning it thereafter.
  • Repeatedly purchasing and returning the same or similar item (ex. A plush toy) within two to three weeks.
  • Returning an item that has been publicly showcased online (e.g., social media).

Consequences of Policy Violations

  • Customers found to be misusing our return policy may be subject to:
  • A 20% restocking fee applied to eligible returns.
  • Refusal of return or refund requests.
  • Cancellation of pending or future orders.
  • Restriction or termination of account privileges.

Why This Policy Exists

We are a small business dedicated to families and children. Product hygiene and safety are our top priorities — used items cannot always be resold safely, particularly products intended for children. We also absorb non-refundable transaction fees on every refund issued. We fully support reasonable returns, including size or style exchanges, and this policy exists only to address misuse.

Sales & Clearance items are FINAL SALE.

Reporting Damage or Defects

If your return is due to a product malfunction, it must be reported and returned within 48 hours of delivery. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for wear and tear, damage caused by use, or issues arising after regular use.

For safety, health & hygienic reasons, some products are final sale.

These products include, but are not limited to:

  • Holiday-themed decorations, toys and accessories
  • Bathing accessories
  • Skin care products, toothbrushes & toothpaste once opened
  • Teethers, Nipples & Pacifiers, once opened
  • Special Order & Pre-Order Items
  • Clearance items
  • Gift Cards
  • Crib Covers
  • Baby Soothers
  • Baby Blankies 
  • Underwear and swimwear

All items labelled "clearance" or stamped with “final sale” on receipt are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged for store credit.

*Please note all shipping fees incurred when sending the order out are non-refundable and all returns are done at the customer's expense. Refused shipments and shipments not picked up at shipping depots are considered returns and are subject to return shipping charges.

International Returns (Including U.S.):
We accept international returns and exchanges; however, due to cross-border processing, return shipping to Canada is subject to a $60 CAD handling fee (this fee may change — the quote is as of March 2025). This fee is charged by the cross-border carrier and will be deducted from your refund.

To avoid unnecessary returns and fees, we encourage you to double-check sizing before placing an order. If you’re unsure, feel free to call or email us — we’re happy to help you make the right choice.

Gift Returns:

Return Shipping Policy:

  • To return your product, mail or bring in-person to the address: Princess & The Pea Boutique, 5112 Mullen Rd NW, Edmonton, Alberta, T6R 0S9

  • You are responsible for paying for your own shipping costs. These costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from your refund if applicable.

  • Consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing insurance for items over $75, as we don’t guarantee receipt of returned items.

  • Depending on your location, the exchange product delivery time may vary.

Delivery Confirmation Policy: Once a package is marked as delivered by the carrier, we are no longer responsible for the item if it is claimed loss. Please ensure that your shipping address is correct and that your delivery location is secure. Neither the courier company nor we, as the shipper, can be held responsible for lost or stolen packages due to porch piracy.

Returns & Exchanges Process

In order to return an item via mail or for online purchase requiring a refund, please contact our Customer Service team at Care@PrincessPea.ca. A customer care representative will let you know the next steps.

Please note, refunds are issued once an item has been received and inspected at a store location. Any items that are sent that do not meet the requirements of a return will still be seen as a sold item, and a customer service representative will be in contact.
